Thirty years ago, when I was a child, my happiest moments were when my family gathered around my mother's home-cooked meals. It saddens me that these small, everyday joys have decreased in recent years. The modern world, with its emphasis on convenience, is indeed convenient. But have we lost something by prioritizing convenience in our meals? The time to cook slowly, the time to sit together as a family and talk over a meal, and the warmth these moments bring to our hearts. I want to pass on the happiness of cooking at home and sharing meals with others to the next generation. The traditional Japanese way of eating, known as "Ichiju Sansai," is at the core of conveying this sentiment. This approach can be adapted to cuisines beyond Japanese food. I hope people around the world can enjoy their own versions of Ichiju Sansai—be it American, Italian, or any other cuisine. When you see my tableware, I hope it reminds you to cook thoughtfully and be present while eating.
