Shipping & Duties (2025 Updated Version)

All orders ship free from Japan, carefully packed to ensure they arrive safely.
Most orders are dispatched within 5 business days after confirmation, and you will receive a tracking link once your order has shipped.

Please note that customs duties or local taxes may apply, depending on your country's regulations.
These fees are not included in the product price and are determined by your local customs office.

United States
As of 2025, the previous “$800 duty-free threshold” (de minimis rule) has been phased out under the new U.S. tariff policies.
This means that customs duties or import taxes may now apply regardless of order value, depending on the product category and U.S. Customs discretion.
We will continue to declare accurate values and use the most cost-efficient shipping methods to minimize unnecessary fees whenever possible.

European Union
Customs duties and VAT may apply based on the total value of the order (product + shipping).
You can check your local customs website for more details.

Australia
Orders under $1,000 AUD are generally exempt from import duties.
Above that amount, GST or customs taxes may apply according to Australian regulations.

Canada
Orders above $20 CAD may be subject to GST and import duties.

Singapore
Orders above $400 SGD may incur import GST or duties.

Mainland China
Orders are shipped via EMS.
A personal postal tax (行邮税) of around 13% typically applies to tableware items.

Carriers & Insurance
We primarily use FedEx for international deliveries.
In the rare event of damage or loss during shipping, MIWA’s Tableware will cover the cost.
If you choose to use your own courier or broker, our compensation policy does not apply.

Iceland, Algeria, Aruba, Albania, Andorra, Yemen, India, Ukraine, Ecuador, El Salvador, Netherlands Antilles, Guadeloupe, Curaçao, Greece, Grenada, Cayman Islands, Syria, Zimbabwe, Eswatini (Swaziland), Saint Lucia, New Caledonia, Nepal, Bermuda, Bahamas, Barbados, East Timor (Timor-Leste), Brazil, Venezuela, South Africa, Montenegro, Libya, Réunion, Russia, Bonaire, Sint Maarten, Saint Martin, Colombia.
