We fell in love with these lacquer bowls as soon as we saw them online, but they’re even more beautiful in person. The quality is excellent, and they feel really nice to hold. This is how I imagine Japanese tableware: lovingly crafted, easy to hold and pleasing to the eye. I'm glad I found Miwa's site. Bowls designed by Japanese craftsmen cannot be found in Germany. I am even more pleased to now be able to enjoy such high-quality products. and it came quickly (1 week). I use them every day.
To me, this soup bowl carries all the meaning behind my cooking journey with Miwa! Miwa's love for miso soup has rubbed off on me and every time I use this bowl, I think about how much I have learned from her. I appreciate having these pieces of fine handiwork from skilled Japanese artisans! Easy to hold. Doesn't get hot to hold like a porcelain bowl would with hot soup in it. The lacquer on this bowl amazingly smooth and feels almost "creamy", if that's possible! Why use a plain solid plastic coloured miso bowl when you use an authentic lacquerware one with a pretty flower like this? What's not to love?

I love that they are handcrafted by Japanese artists who use traditional materials & motifs and have created a sophisticated modern designed bowl that can be used everyday. They are even more beautiful in person and feel great in the hand. Perfect size for soup, salads, rice, great alone or mixed with other tableware.
